Spec Coordinator Job Profile:

A Spec Coordinator is responsible for creating and processing a variety of project specifications, for lighting and controls specifiers, through close collaboration with our Manufacturers and Spec Sales team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • This individual should ensure the specifier receives the highest level of service through expert project management.
  • Possess the ability to plan, document, submit and oversee all aspects of multiple project specifications.
  • Formulate product options to meet specifications and budgetary requirements.
  • Coordinate details between the specifier, manufacturer and SCI Sales & Specifications teams in a helpful and efficient manner.

Skills and Specifications

  • This individual should have a thorough understanding of all the SCI product lines.
  • Should possess strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, which will help this individual coordinate among different divisions.
  • Possess the aptitude to maintain systems and product knowledge.
  • Possess the ability to present and communicate effectively in a group setting.
  • Should hold the capacity to manage tasks and time lines, without compromising quality or superior service.
  • Experience working with other Lighting and Controls Companies.
  • Design, Construction or Engineering related experience a plus.

Education and Qualifications

A strong background, minimum of 3‐5 years, in Lighting Design, Distribution Project Management, and/or Design Construction. A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business or other commensurate degree.

Quotations Representative Job Profile:

A Quotations Representative is responsible for quoting itemized bill of materials, specified projects and crossover projects for lighting distributors and contractors working closely with our Sales and Specification team.  An emphasis should be placed on establishing relationships with our manufacturers and customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • This individual should ensure that the Lighting and Lighting Control Systems comply with the specifications of the project.
  • Possess the ability to maintain a very heavy schedule of tasks and projects.
  • Coordinate between the electrical distributor, contractor, manufacturer and SCI Sales and Specification teams to provide a complete and competitive bid package.
  • Formulate plans for following up on bids to generate orders.
  • Responsible for arranging and filing supporting bid documents.

Skills and Specifications

  • This individual should have a complete and thorough understanding of all of the SCI product lines, LED and lighting control technology, and pricing structures.
  • Possess the ability to present and communicate effectively in-group settings.
  • Should hold the capacity to manage budgets and time lines to meet strict deadlines.

  • This individual should ensure the electrical distributor receives the highest level of customer service through expert project management.
  • Possess the ability to plan, document, submit and oversee all aspects of multiple project orders.
  • Coordinate details between the electrical distributor, manufacturer and SCI Sales & Specifications teams in a helpful and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a heavy order, email and call volume while maintaining a cooperative and professional demeanor.
  • Formulate product options to meet specifications, budgetary requirements and achieve shipment deadlines.
  • Provide post-sales support and reconciliation.
  • Participate in continued product training and attend industry events as necessary.
  • Responsible for arranging and filing supporting documents.

A Lighting Controls System Engineer is responsible for commissioning and startup of Control Systems, Project Management of Systems, Analyzing and Quoting Project Pricing and driving the overall startup and commissioning process within the territory.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The individual should ensure that Control Systems comply with the specifications of the project and sequence of operations.
  • Should form a comfortable indoor climate for learning.
  • The ability to maintain a very heavy schedule of tasks and projects.
  • Should coordinate between the sales operations and facilities in order to provide commissioning and training on controls systems.
  • Should communicate well with the sales team and associates.
  • Should formulate plans for implementing growth from existing installations.
  • Responsible for arranging and filling, billings, quotations and other necessary documents
  • Should review design of facilities and construction specifications as related to Lighting and Controls.

Skills and Specifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experienced with AutoCAD, Revit and AGI are required.
  • Be able to present and communicate effectively in group settings.
  • Should know about technical details lighting and control systems.
  • Should have the ability to manage the budget and time required for the project.
