Inside Sales Coordinator Job Profile:

The Inside Sales Coordinator position will be responsible for the support and administration of commercial and industrial sales related activities to help provide maximum service and achieve the sales goals in the market.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working closely with SCI’s C&I outside sales teams, the objective of this position is to have the maximum capture rate of the distributors’ and contractors’ project business while maintaining profitability.
  • Building and maintaining key relationships with project managers, estimators, sales reps within the electrical distributor, electrical contractor, and manufacturer.
  • Coordinate between the electrical distributor, contractor, manufacturer and SCI Quotations, Sales and Specification teams to provide a complete and competitive bid package.
  • Formulate plans for following up on bids to generate orders.
  • Responsible for arranging and filing supporting bid and order documents.
  • Main go to for San Diego on quick quotes for distribution.
  • Assist in telephone and email sales and marketing for small distributors and contractors.
  • Assist sales and project management with quote clean up and preparation of lighting and control submittals.
  • Responsible to maintain and continue their education on new technologies as they are developed and introduced to SCI and the marketplace.
  • Regular sales meetings

Skills and Specifications

  • This individual will need to thoroughly learn and maintain understanding of all SCI product lines, LED and lighting control technology and pricing structures.
  • Possess the ability to present and communicate effectively in-group settings.
  • Should hold the capacity to manage budgets and time lines to meet strict deadlines.
  • Should possess strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, which will help this individual coordinate among different divisions.
  • Experience working with other Lighting and Controls Companies.
  • Strong background and experience utilizing computer software programs such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, Bluebeam and CRM type systems.

Education and Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate for this position will reside in San Diego.
  • A strong background in Electrical Systems and Lighting Control Systems is preferred.
  • A bachelor’s degree is recommended and preferred.

A Spec Coordinator is responsible for creating and processing a variety of project Specifications from inception to completion, for lighting and controls specifiers, through close collaboration with our Manufacturers and Spec Sales team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • This individual should ensure the specifier receives the highest level of service through expert project management.
  • Possess the ability to plan, document, submit and oversee all aspects of multiple project specifications.
  • Formulate product options to meet specifications and budgetary requirements.
  • Coordinate details between the specifier, manufacturer and SCI Sales & Specifications teams in a helpful and efficient manner.
  • Create and maintain a close working relationship with your assigned Specification Sales team members.

Skills and Specifications

  • Should possess strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, which will help this individual coordinate among different divisions.
  • Possess the aptitude to maintain systems and product knowledge.
  • Possess the ability to present and communicate effectively in a group setting.

Education and Qualifications

  • Experience with the Lighting Design, Distribution Project Management, and/or Design Construction community is a plus.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Business or other commensurate degree.

Controls Field Technician

L.A. – Irvine

The following position will be based in Irvine, California working with a team of professionals within SCI, one the leading Lighting and Control Agencies in the Country.

Controls Field Technician Job Profile:

A Controls Field Technician is responsible for the complete and successful commissioning of our networked lighting control systems.Detailed and comprehensive training on all of our systems will be provided locally and at our factories throughout the country. The candidate will be based in our Irvine office but much of the day-to-day duties will be completed in the field throughout our territory (LA, Irvine and San Diego).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Commissioning of systems based on control intent and sequence of operations provided in contract documentation
  • Attend pre-wire meetings to provide detailed instructions to construction team regarding system functionality and architecture
  • Provide system and programming training to electrical contractors and distributors
  • Present and demonstrate the functionality of systems to project owners and end users.
  • Remote technical support for all lighting control systems
  • In office pre-programming of wireless systems

Education and Qualifications

  • Field work as an electrical contractor a plus but not required
  • 2+ years related work experience
  • Understanding of wireless protocols (BLE 802.15.1, Zigbee 802.15.4, Wi-Fi 802.11) helpful but not required
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation – Architectural and Electrical plans, System specifications and programming manuals
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Experience with Bluebeam and AutoCAD a plus but not required
  • Detail-oriented with strong prioritization, time management and multi-tasking skills

Hours M-F 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
