Controls Field Technician

Irvine, California
The Controls Field Technician is responsible for the complete and successful commissioning of our networked lighting control systems.   Detailed and comprehensive training on all our systems will be provided locally and at our factories throughout the country. The candidate will be based in our Irvine office but much of the day-to-day duties will be completed in the field throughout our territory (LA, Irvine, and San Diego). The hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 7:30am-4:30pm each day. To apply please provide a cover letter and resume.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Commissioning of systems based on control intent and sequence of operations
    provided in contract documentation
  • Attend pre-wire meetings to provide detailed instructions to construction team
    regarding system functionality and architecture
  • Provide system and programming training to electrical contractors and distributors
  • Present and demonstrate the functionality of systems to project owners and end
    users
  • Remote technical support for all lighting control systems
  • In office pre-programming of wireless systems

Skills & Specifications

  • Field work as an electrical contractor a plus but not required
  • 2+ years related work experience2+ years related work experience
  • Understanding of wireless protocols (BLE 802.15.1, Zigbee 802.15.4, Wi-Fi 802.11)
    helpful but not required
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation – Architectural and
    Electrical plans, System specifications and programming manuals
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Experience with Bluebeam and AutoCAD a plus but not required

Compensation & Benefits

SCI will provide a comprehensive compensation package commensurate with your experience and qualifications. The salary range for this position is $55K-$80K annually. SCI also offers a 401k program, profit sharing, and our health insurance program, dental and vision.
