Lighting Controls Field Technician

Irvine, California
The Lighting Controls Field Technician – Los Angeles, Orange, Inland Empire and San Diego Counties is responsible for the complete and successful commissioning of our networked lighting control systems. Detailed and comprehensive training on all of our systems will be provided locally and at our factories throughout the country. The candidate will be based in our Irvine office but much of the day-to-day duties will be completed in the field throughout our territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commissioning of systems based on control intent and sequence of operations provided in contract documentation.
  • Attend pre-wire meetings to provide detailed instructions to construction team regarding system functionality and architecture.
  • Provide system and programming training to electrical contractors and distributors.
  • Present and demonstrate the functionality of systems to project owners and end users.
  • Remote technical support for all lighting control systems.
  • In office pre-programming of wireless systems.

Qualifications:

  • Field work as an electrical contractor a plus but not required.
  • 2+ years related work experience.
  • Understanding of wireless protocols (BLE 802.15.1, Zigbee 802.15.4, Wi-Fi 802.11) helpful but not required.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation – Architectural and Electrical plans, System specifications, and programming manuals.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience with Bluebeam and AutoCAD a plus but not required.
  • Detail-oriented with strong prioritization, time management and multi-tasking skills.

  • Salary Range: $55,000 - $90,000 annually.
