A Quotations Representative is responsible for quoting itemized bill of materials, specified projects and crossover projects for lighting distributors and contractors working closely with our Sales and Specification team.  An emphasis should be placed on establishing relationships with our manufacturers and customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • This individual should ensure that the Lighting and Lighting Control Systems comply with the specifications of the project.
  • Possess the ability to maintain a very heavy schedule of tasks and projects.
  • Coordinate between the electrical distributor, contractor, manufacturer and SCI Sales and Specification teams to provide a complete and competitive bid package.
  • Formulate plans for following up on bids to generate orders.
  • Responsible for arranging and filing supporting bid documents.

Skills and Specifications

  • This individual should have a complete and thorough understanding of all of the SCI product lines, LED and lighting control technology, and pricing structures.
  • Possess the ability to present and communicate effectively in-group settings.
  • Should hold the capacity to manage budgets and time lines to meet strict deadlines.
  • Should possess strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, which will help this individual coordinate among different divisions.
  • Experience working with other Lighting and Controls Companies.

Education and Qualifications

A strong background in Electrical Systems and Lighting Control Systems is required along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Business.

A Lighting Controls Applications Specialist is responsible for analyzing plans and converting the designs of architects and engineers into technical drawings.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The individual should ensure that Control System drawings comply with the specifications of the project and sequence of operations.
  • Should review design of facilities and construction specifications as related to Lighting and Controls.
  • Possess the ability to maintain a very heavy schedule of tasks and projects.
  • Should be adept at adjusting work pace to meeting evolving client needs.
  • Coordinate between the specifier, manufacturer and SCI Sales and Specification teams to provide professional-quality drawings.   
  • Should communicate well with the sales team and associates.
  • Responsible for arranging, filling, and submitting other necessary documents

Skills and Specifications

  • Fully proficient in the latest versions of AutoCAD, Revit and AGI.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be able to present and communicate effectively in group settings.
  • Should know about technical details of lighting and control systems.
  • Should have the ability to manage the time required for the project.

Controller

L.A. – Irvine

The Controller is responsible for the accounting operations  and administration of employee benefits, to include the production of periodic financial reports, cash management, risk management, maintenance of adequate accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of  the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • This individual should be able to process all Accounts Payable, posting to proper accounts and processing payments on a weekly basis in QuickBooks.
  • Invoice internal billings, maintain Accounts Receivable and ensure current terms and collections within the QuickBooks environment.
  • Process all internal SCI purchase orders – samples/job cost /accommodation / billings.
  • Process Manufacturer’s statements and billings.
  • Process semi‐monthly payrolls including changes in employee deductions, new employees, terminating employees, with accurate overtime, sick, vacation, commissions etc. in a timely manner to meet payroll dates through Paychex Online. Post the payroll accurately in QuickBooks.
  • Present annual open enrollment opportunities for employees; maintain online health/dental benefits to coordinate with payroll contributions through Ease Central system.
  • Process internal salesperson’s expense reports through Concur system.
  • Process customer credit card payments through Payeezy system.
  • Process all sales tax reporting due at the end of each quarter.
  • Maintain the company’s 401K plan through Empower – additions/deletions/contributions/loans, responsible for year‐end compliance tasks.
  • Receive manufacturer’s invoices, track sample returns, billings associated with manufacturer’s shipments on internal orders.
  • Monthly bank reconciliations
  • Month end financial statements, aging’s, associated schedules.
  • Maintain internal equipment listing/ produce property tax statements.
  • Maintain company’s FSA Flex Spending Program and reporting. Maintain company’s ESR reporting.

Skills and Specifications

  • This individual should be proficient in QuickBooks and Excel.
  • Have an understanding of out‐source payroll – i.e.: Paychex
  • Possess a strong background in Bookkeeping.
  • Have experience in producing financial statements.
  • Be able to manage time and workload independent of others within the organization.

Education and Qualification
A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration, or equivalent business experience and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience for a major company or division of a large corporation.  Preference will be given to candidates with the Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designations.
